Are you seeking jobs in Australia from overseas and are not having much luck?  Have you considered planning a trip to Australia as part of your job search? If not, perhaps you should think about making a trip to Australia as part of your job search strategy.

Although our clients have had success gaining interviews over the telephone whilst they are still in their home countries, experience has shown that making a trip to Australia for the purpose of attending interviews and meeting with Australian employers and recruiters can greatly increase your success rate when applying for jobs in Australia.

Think about it this way – if you were looking to employ someone long term in your company, would you feel 100% comfortable hiring someone whom you have not yet met?  Most people would answer no to this question, unless you are working in a profession where your personality fit is not important when considering someone for a job – for example in a highly technical position where the employee’s proven experience in this field holds more weight than how they come across in an interview.

Using a trip to Australia as part of your job search can open up opportunities for interviews which may not have been there previously.  Australian employers who are not necessarily looking for an overseas applicant or sponsoring an overseas national may be more willing to consider if you if you happen to be in Australia and available for an interview.

The best way to plan your trip is to do your research in advance – compile a list of companies whom you have an interest in working for, and start contacting them before you leave.  Advise them that you will be in the country for a certain period of time and would love to have the opportunity to meet with them whilst you are there, even if they do not have any current vacancies that are suitable for you.  This way you can be considered more seriously for future opportunities with the organisation.

If you cannot set up a time to meet with the company when you make your initial contact with them, contact them again just before you arrive in Australia, or once you are there – this time by telephone, and let them know that you will be in their area on a certain date (give two options in case they cannot make one of them).  If you still cannot secure an interview date, the last resort is to visit the company in person when you are in Australia, with a copy of your CV,

and be sure to ask for the person in charge of recruiting for your profession.  By this time you should have made some great contacts and developed some relationships with the work you have done before arriving in Australia, so they should remember your name.

This is a very effective tactic as part of your job search, particularly if you are seeking job sponsorship, because it allows you to get in front of several employers, which is more powerful and influential than simply applying for jobs over the internet, because you have made a human to human connection.

Our clients have had success using this tactic and managed to gain phone interviews before they arrive in Australia, with second interviews lined up for when they are on their visit in Australia.  Other clients managed to book interviews whilst they were in Australia and had positive responses from Australian employers, even in the cases where they required sponsorship.

Nab That Job in Australia offers a service whereby they can take the hard work out of the research and contacting employers and recruiters by doing all of this for you.  Australian Emigration Job Search Strategist, Nadine Myers, has found that their third party recommendation for interview has had positive results.

“When our clients have followed up from our inital contact, they were simply building upon the connection that we had already established with the contacts.  This means that a relationship been set up for them, making the contact by the client a lot easier and less ‘cold’”, said Ms Myers.

“We spend hours, if not days, doing research for our clients on suitable Australian employers whom we feel would be a great match for our clients’ skills and experience, and put together a detailed strategy for our clients to follow so they do not have to do too much thinking and figuring out for themselves – it is simple, paint-by-numbers system”, said Ms Myers.

Many clients and people that we speak to advise us that they are giving up on the Australian job sponsorship route for migrating to Australia, because recruitment agencies in Australia have advised them that:

“It’s just too hard to find a sponsor”

“You need to have local experience”

“Australian companies aren’t sponsoring right now”

“You are better to wait until you arrive in Australia”

Why do recruitment agencies give this advice?  The reason is because, although they are specialists in their field and know the Australian market well, when they introduce job seekers to their clients (ie Australian companies), the recruiters receive a fee from that client.  Recruiters therefore want to take the quickest and easiest route for receiving their fee.  I know this sounds harsh, however, in their defense, recruiters receive hundreds of applications for jobs they advertise, and they need to somehow cut these applications down to a select few to introduce to their client.  Further, recruitment agencies need to have met you face to face before they can introduce you to their clients, as a matter of policy.

Therefore, job seekers who require sponsorship, are not yet in Australia, and/or have not had work experience in Australia in the past; will for the most part, be screened out of the recruitment process by recruiters, as they opt to work with candidates whom will be less effort for them.

This is not to say that recruiters have no feelings or compassion.  They are simply doing business the best they know how.  Having spent several years in the position of having to screen CVs and select the most suitable for the position, I understand the process that recruiters go through, and therefore I feel my opinion is justified.

Nadine Myers, Australian Emigration Job Search Strategist with Nab That Job in Australia! advises not to be deterred by the advice that Australian recruiters give you.  Ms Myers and her team work with foreign nationals every day, and have clients who have successfully found job sponsorship whilst applying from overseas, and who have not previously had local Australian experience.

It must be stressed though, finding job sponsorship in Australia is no easy feat.

“It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and a positive and resilient attitude, and even then, there is  chance you may fail”, says Ms Myers.

“You have to know what you want, you have to go after it, and you have to know that no matter what adversities you are faced with now, you will reach your goal.”

Ms Myers advises not to believe that it will happen over night.  “Finding a job in Australia, including sponsorship, is a process that we help you through.  It starts with ensuring that your CV is competitive, that you have a strong job search strategy.  You also need to continually and systematically tap into the hidden job market – that means looking for those jobs that are not advertised.  They are out there, my friends!” says Ms Myers.

Many Australian companies now have sophisticated recruitment systems whereby they accept applications year-round from job seekers, whether they have vacancies or not.  The Australian companies then access this ‘pool’ of talent when positions become available in their company, and hence, they often do not need to advertise their vacancy.

Many Australian companies also offer their employees referral fees if they introduced someone they know to the company, which is very attractive and powerful, and can also mean that vacancies are filled from within the company before there is any need to advertise the position.

Networking and tapping into this hidden job market in Australia is therefore key for foreign nationals in particular, who are seeking employment in Australia.

“There are thousands of skilled job seekers all over the world who are seeking employment in Australia, and my mission is to ensure that these people do not give up on their dream of migrating to Australia”, says Ms Myers.

If you are having trouble finding a job in Australia, the first step to improving your success rate is to do Nab That Job in Australia’s quick CV assessment which will help you to determine whether your CV is competitive in the Australian job market.  This assessment will lead you through a series of questions that will uncover what you need to do to improve your success rate when seeking employment in Australia.  The assessment tool will then offer you your next steps, depending on your particular visa status.

Tired of being in dark when it comes to finding job sponsorship in Australia?

Getting no response from your job applications and not receiving any useful feedback from Australian recruiters?

Don’t you think its time that you found out what it is that will make an Australian employer want to sponsor you?

Watch your luck change when you apply for jobs in Australia with a high-impact CV that is designed specifically for finding job sponsorship in Australia!  This eBook could literally change your life, and you could be boarding that plane to Australia before you know it!

With the changes in the Australian PR processing times, more and more people are turning to the job sponsorship option for emigrating to Australia.  Problem is, they don’t know where to begin when looking for an Australian employer who is willing to sponsor them.  Most of  the job adverts on the major Australian job search websites do not allow foreign nationals to apply for the positions unless they already have the legal rights to work in Australia or have already obtained their Australian Permanent Residency.  Yet, thousands of people are still being sponsored by employers in Australia  - how can that be?  What do those lucky people know that you do not?

Do you really know the weighting of your CV when it comes to applying for job sponsorship in Australia?  If you are getting the following results from your Australian job applications, it could be that your CV is not competitive against local Australian residents:

  • No response from job applications
  • Only receiving “rejection” letters from employers and recruiters
  • No interview invitations after several job applications
  • Emails telling you that “we have nothing available at the moment that is suitable to your background and qualifications, however we will inform you as soon as a suitable position becomes available”
Does this sound like your progress so far?

I am so happy to tell you that you are so close to finding job sponsorship in Australia!  You just have to change your CV!

Nab That Job in Australia has been working together with Sponsorship Australia for the past three months, and can report success with the sponsorship services we have been offering to foreign nationals from South Africa, Canada, UK, US, Europe and Asia, who have all been seeking employment and job sponsorship in Australia.

Our clients have found the Australian Job Sponsorship Package the most successful in assisting them to find employment in Australia, and have reported being invited for interviews with Australian companies, who are open to the fact that these clients require job sponsorship in Australia.  This has been a complete turn around for these clients, who, previous to utilising Nab That Job in Australia’s services, were receiving no response from their job applications in Australia.

“The power in the Australian Job Sponsorship Package“, says Nadine Myers, Australian Emigration Job Search Strategist with Nab That Job in Australia, “is our third party recommendation of our clients’ CV to our contacts in Australian companies, as well as Australian recruiters.  Our recommendation for these companies to interview our clients, coupled with our high-impact, competitive CVs that we tailor for each of our clients, is enough to grab the attention and interest

of Australian employers, and this tactic has proven to gain valuable interviews for our clients.”

“The services in this package all go hand in hand to perfectly compliment each other”, says Ms Myers.  “For example, a really great CV that meets the expectations of the Australian employer is in a sense, useless, if one does not have an effective job sponsorship strategy to implement with their marketing documents (CV and Cover Letter)”.

“Our Australian Job Sponsorship Package enables our clients to put their best foot forward when applying for job sponsorship in Australia, and opens oppportunities for them that would not otherwise have been there.”  Ms Myers is of course, talking about the elusive ‘hidden job market’ in Australia – where it is estimated that 70% of all available jobs in Australia reside.  Searching for job sponsorship simply through job search websites will not expose job seekers to all vacancies that are available in Australia.

Clients that Ms Myers has worked with for finding job sponsorship have reigned from the following professions:

  • Dentists
  • Nurses
  • IT Professionals
  • Accountants / Finance Professionals
  • Pharmacists
  • Business Analysts
  • Learning & Development Professionals
  • HR Managers
  • Interior Decorators
  • Landscape Gardeners
  • Other Trades Professionals
  • Other Business Professionals

Ms Myers says that she cannot assist anyone to find job sponsorship in Australia unless they have first confirmed that they qualify for job sponsorship in Australia

Ms Myers recommends the new and improved Australian CV Assessment Tool from Nab That Job in Australia, which will not only allow foreign nationals to determine where they are going wrong in their current CV, but also learn how they can improve their CV and their chances for finding sponsored employment in Australia.  This Australian CV Assessment Tool now also leads each participant to relevant information about visas in Australia, qualifying for job sponsorship in Australia, and what services Nab That Job in Australia can offer them that would be of most benefit to each participant in their individual situation.

Try out the new Australian CV Assessment Tool now, and find out how you can improve your chances of finding job sponsorship in Australia!

With skilled migration no longer being an option for many foreign nationals who want to immigrate to Australia, sponsorship is proving to be not only the only option available to them, but also the fastest route to immigrating to Australia.

Australian companies are becoming more and more open to sponsoring skilled, overseas nationals; and I see this trend increasing as Australia’s focus for immigration is changing towards job sponsorship pathways.

South African Doctors and Dentists are really proving themselves to be valuable to Australian employers.

Sponsorship Australia and their Recruitment Partners have placed South African Dentists in Western Australia and Queensland, who have happily settled into their new lifestyle in Australia.   Queensland’s regional locations are proving to be popular, particularly since they are close to the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef system, stretching over 2600km, and can even be seen from outer space!  Beautiful, white, sandy beaches and warm weather all year around are just two bonuses of living in Queensland, Australia’s “Sunshine State”.  As the Queensland Tourism slogan says, it is “Beautiful one day, perfect the next”.

Western Australia has the benefit of wonderful, dry heat, and a growing South African population with close proximity to South Africa – a short 9-hour flight away, making trips home to visit family and friends a breeze.  Further, you can be within reach of your South African home comforts, such as Biltong, Boerewors, Droewors, Sosaties and other African products, with the many South African stores available within Western Australia, such as Conways Butchery.

You can chat to some South Africans in WA, QLD and other regions of Australia at: http://www.saaustralia.org/ who have successfully emigrated and are enjoying their new lifestyle in Australia.

If you fit the criteria for our Doctor and Dental jobs in Australia, we can arrange an interview with potential employers within one week, and you could be planning your move to Australia within a week or two of your interview!  That’s how fast we move.

Australia really values the experience and quality that South African Doctors and Dentists offer.  We are therefore finding South African Doctors and Dentists very easy to place in Australia.

For South African Dentists, we can offer a fast track program with the Public Sector Dental Workforce Scheme (PSDWS) allowing qualifying Dentists to bi-pass the extensive examination requirements of standard Australian Dental migration scheme.  What this means is that you can move to Australia faster, and once there, you can arrange to sit your exams at your leisure (within a certain time frame).  Once you have sat your final Australian Dental Council (ADC) exams, you then have the option to apply for a position within the Private sector, demanding a higher income, and with more choice of location in Australia.  We can even assist you with this part of the process, introducing you to our clients in your chosen State and locations.

Migrating to Australia as a South African Dentist (or Doctor) has never been easier!  It all starts here.

What to expect when applying for a position Australian Doctors jobs or Dental jobs in Australia:

Once you have sent through your CV, with the regions of Australia that you are interested in, your English language status (whether you have had your English assessed, or whether your secondary and tertiary studies were at English education institutions); we collaborate with our recruitment partner and assess your skills against our current vacancies in Australia in your chosen regions.  If your selected regions do not currently have any suitable vacancies, we will suggest alternative regions of Australia for you to consider.  We can even get you in touch with other South African Doctors and Dentists who have successfully settled in these regions of Australia.

With your permission, we then set up interviews with yourself and our clients, which will be conducted over the telephone.

Following the interview, if you progress to the next stage of the interview process, we will request at least two written references from your most recent employers.  Please ensure that you have references ready, even before your interview, so that the recruitment process can be as smooth as possible for both you and our Australian Doctor and Dental clients.

Once references have been received, and you have been successful for the position you have been considered for, you will normally receive an offer of employment within a week following the receipt of references.

Upon you acceptance of the offered position, you may then swiftly start making your plans for migrating to Australia, and will be guided through your new employer on the migration process.

If you meet the following criteria, we would love to hear from you:

  • Qualified Doctor or Dentist
  • Minimum of two years post graduate experience
  • OET / IELTS or proof of Secondary & Tertiary Studies at an English institution

To be considered for any of our current Doctor or Dental vacancies, send your CV now, to nadine@nabthatjob.com to find out what opportunities exist in your location of choice.
